On 24th March, Mozambique Senior Development Team played a friendly match against visting Indian Navy (INS Darshak) at Parque de Continuadores stadium Ground.

INDIAN NAVAL SHIP “DARSHAK” IN MOZAMBIQUE
Cricket is the pathway to harmony and friendship and to help to make the concrete foundation of cooperation between Mozambique and India, MCA – Mozambican Cricket Association never hesitated to leap forward to make the minimum contribution whenever such services needed for the benefit of friendship and Cricket.
By the request of High Commissioner of India Dr. Ashok K. Amrohi and ably followed-up by Mr. Naresh Kumar, Consul of HCI, the Mozambican Cricket Association, once again, for the 3rd time, took initiative to make the “Good –Will” visit of an Indian Naval Ship, INS Darshak, , visiting Mozambique on bilateral agreement between Government of India and Government of Mozambique, more pleasant through the traditional Cricket Game between INS Darshak and MCA Development team at PDC Athletic & Cricket Stadium, on 24th March.
The ground was full of energy with vibrant Indian Naval officers and sailors, officers and staff of Indian high commission led by HE High Commissioner of India Dr. Amrohi himself, along with Mozambican talented development players, supporters, volunteers and Board members, exchanging all their good wishes through Cricket for the “GOOD-WILL” Trophy. Game was won by Moz team by 32 runs in the shortest format of a limited 15 over match. On behalf of High Commission of India, Dr. Ashok Amrohi and on behalf of INS Darshak its Commanding Officer thanked MCA for their goodwill gesture and on behalf of MCA , Mr. Dipankar Sengupta, CEO of MCA conveyed its appreciation with all the best wishes to HCI and Indian Navy for their kind collaboration to Mozambique and giving the opportunity to host an Indian Naval team for a Cricket game.
Though the winner was the “Friendship” but MCA presented 4 “goodwill – trophies” on this occasion, one for INS Darshak, one for MCA Dev team and a special trophy for the best bowler Lt. Gurung of INS Darshak while best batsman trophy went to a MCA player K. Raja.
The Commanding Officer of INS Darshak took equally Good-Will initiative by presenting beautiful mementos of the ship to many MCA players & members, namely to the umpires Reddy and Mukhtar, Board Member Ema Fernandes, Mozambique women team Captain Eulalia Joaquim and MCA Dev. Team Captain Vadavathy.
