ICC CENTENARY CATCH THE SPIRIT EVENT 2009
MOZAMBIQUE


Mozambican Cricket Association celebrated a "Junior Cricket Festival" as scheduled from 11th July to 18th July continuously, excluding 12th July.


There were a total of 8 venues where the celebration took place during this period and on 18th July, final conclusion day AMC made a very happy ending of the commemoration in collaboration of NCSC- National Commission for School Cricket, an organ of AMC.


A total of 319 participants, boys and girls actively took part in the celebration and on 18th a mini tournament with a total of 13 teams participated from 08h00 to 16h00. Hundreds of people were present to assist the ceremony including Government members and dignitaries.


Energy and fighting spirit among the participants were the true picture of the "SPIRIT OF THE GAME" and to encourage, organizing body of ICC centenary celebration in Mozambique presented many beautiful trophies to the deserving team and individuals in the name of "CATCH THE SPIRIT". Main winners are:


1. EPC 10 de Novembro - Team Winner of Catch the Spirit trophy, Masculine


2. ES Nelson Mandela (City) - Team Runner-up of Catch the Spirit trophy, Masculine


3. ES Costa de Sol - Team Winner of Catch the Spirit trophy, Feminine


4. ES Nelson Mandela (City) - Team Runner-up of Catch the Spirit trophy, Feminine


5. Francisco Damiao - Individual Winner of Catch the Spirit trophy, Masculine.


6. Eulalia Moiane - Individual Winner of Catch the Spirit trophy, Feminine


7. Isseu Salomao - Individual Winner of Catch the Spirit trophy, Emerging Boy


8. Fatima Joao - Individual Winner of Catch the Spirit trophy, Emerging Girl


9. Arnaldo Moreira - Best Emerging umpire


The ICC Centenary Festival in Mozambique was transmitted in resume by Local TV channel MIRAMAR and TIM in their news. Supersport Africa also covered which will be transmitted in special Cricket program from South Africa covering the continent.
