MOZAMBICAN CRICKET ASSOCIATION

CENTRAL ZONE CRICKET ACTIVITIES LEAGUE RESULTS

1st SEMESTER 2013

Situation Report.

1)       Our weekly training program is on track and functioning well as per 2013 development plan submitted earlier.

2)       CIS (Chimoio International School) are not participating and have withdrawn.

3)       We have selected a combined CEN and Chimoio mens team.

4)       We have confirmed a match against the Mountaineers franchise in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

5)       We are in the process of obtaining team visas from the Zim High Commission in Beira. We are being assisted by Dr Cossa – Director of Youth, Sport and Culture, Manica Province. As soon as visas are in order we will travel to Mutare for the match.

6)        Beira team has made 3 trips to come and play at CEN.  I am confident that Beira can be encouraged to raise two teams.  The Beira players have been a pleasure to work with.

Matches Played.

1)       CEN School vs Beira Mens.              Date: 7th April 2013.

This was the first game of a triangular series. CEN batted first and achieved a score of 94 runs. Beira batted well and hit the winning runs in the 11th over.

2)       Paradise CC vs GDI CC.    Date: 7th April 2013.

Paradise batted first and posted a score of 49 all out.  GDI strolled to victory, reaching this target in the 10th over.

3)       Chimoio Select vs Beira.    Date: 7th April 2013.

The Chimoio sides then teamed up to challenge Beira. They did not do very well however and were 85 all out. Beira achieved this target in the 13h over. This means that Beira won the tournament.

4)       GDI CC vs Paradise CC.    Date: 26th May 2013.

GDI were all out for 61 runs. Paradise then went in to bat and won the match in the 11th over.

5)       CEN vs GDI CC.                  Date: 16th June 2013.

GDI won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 104 in their allotted 20 overs. CEN then went in to bat but were 104 all out in the 16th over. Match tied.

6)       CEN vs GDI CC.                  Date: 23rd June 203.

GDI batted first and were 96 all out. Unfortunately for the schoolboys, they did not reach the required target and were all out for 76 runs in the 14th over.

7)       GDI vs Paradise CC.                           Date: 2nd July 2013.

GDI batted first and made 240 runs in their allotted 20 overs. This proved too much for Paradise to achieve and and Paradise were all out in the 18th over, having only managed to score 149 runs.

8)       Chimoio Combined XI vs Beira.      Date: 14th July 2013.

Chimoio Combined batted first and scored 118 runs. Beira replied with 119 for 6 in 12 overs. The top scorer for Chimoio Combined was Elliot with 38 runs. Elliot also has the best bowling return, with figures of 3 for 13. For Beira the best batsman was Arif with 42 runs and the best bowler was Ravi with 4 for 18.

Furthermore:

Three matches were rained off.

Two other matches not organised by CEN were played at the school by Chimoio and Beira men.
